BINGO!

Despite a shoulder operation last year, Birgitte Staal, one of the Danish World Wide WHAT volunteers, managed to help finish this new WHAT piece, made of old plastic bags from the two Danish supermarket chains: Netto and Føtex.

Working on the piece really made her arm hurt, but she carried on whenever she could! It’s so amazing WHAT she has been capable of - not only with a painful arm, but also with her two curious and naughty cats around. Every time she started crocheting they came to hang out and trust me - a cat won’t easily move! I have one myself and it’s always a fight to keep it away without getting scratched!

Why do cats get so attracted to plastic? It seems weird, but in that way I guess they don’t differ much from humans. In this case the plastic is insulating and therefore great for the cats to lie on. Other animals are very found of the material too, like in Copenhagen where I live, I’ve seen swans building nests primarily of plastics. And WHAT’s not to like about it? It’s easily found and keeps the swan chicks warm.

Thank you so much Birgitte Staal for joining World Wide WHAT with this time consuming contribution. You did a magnificent job and I’m so happy the way the colors turned out. It reminds me of a tiger - not bad at all. A tiger roars and that’s excatly what WHAT should do: Roar to remind:

WHAT about plastic?

Now I’ll find out which country to send this newborn tiger-WHAT to. Thank you everyone who’ve been writing to me wanting to help installing. I’ll do my very best to make WHAT come your way.
